Frottage Drawing with Peggy Ross
Wednesday, August 14, 9:30 am -12:30 pm
Frottage – made famous by the Surrealist Max Ernst – is about creating with textures. Think leaf rubbings on steroids! Explore textures from unexpected sources, make automatic drawings and experiment with composition. You’ll leave with a creation or two and many new ideas for future art. A great way to enliven your work and a perfect warm up for beginning drawing.
Artists of all experience levels welcome – complete beginner through professional.
Papers, pencils, erasers, graphite sticks, crayons and glue sticks included in materials fee. Students bring scissors and at least one textured substrate or surface to share for making rubbings. Bring a sense of adventure.

About Peggy:
If Peggy isn’t in a classroom, art studio or her garden, she might be found at a garage sale or wandering around a hardware store imagining artistic uses for the objects she sees. Lines, shapes, textures, and glorious color can be found everywhere. Peggy loves to translate the world around her into painted, collaged & woven art.
